Problem: Kitchen Too Big

This client had a problem most clients would not consider a problem. She felt her kitchen was too large. Most would say how is that possible, well let me tell you. She felt like the space was not cohesive and and disjoined. She felt when her children were in the kitchen working on their homework and or arts and crafts they were miles away. She also hated the existing cooktop hood. The kitchen was only about 6 years old the cabinets were all wood so I thought it would be best to have them painted and add additional cabinetry to create the look and feel she desired.

Problem: Tiny Laundry Room/Mud Room

Needed

This client was frustrated with the tiny laundry room/make shift mudroom for her 2 active young boys and husband. I realized that we could increase the size of the laundry room by taking over the existing home office and converting it to a large laundry room and using the previous laundry room as a functional mudroom. We moved the home office to the formal living room which was not being used very often.

Recreation space

Problem: Recreation Space Needed-lower Level Renovation

This young family was not enjoying the use of their partially finished lower level and used it as a “catch all” for surplus pantry items, miscellaneous exercise equipment, some toys and games their children used on occasion. We wanted to make the space more inviting, organized and a space that could be used by the entire family with a kitchenette wet bar area we installed a space saving floating bar for seating , dedicated exercise area, pantry storage, as well as a space large sectional perfect for movie night.

Problem: Small Dated Kitchen

My Clients wanted to maximize the space in their small kitchen. We removed the soffits to create the feel of a larger/more expansive room. We created an opening to the adjacent living room and installed counter height seating to create a more open feel and better flow between the 2 rooms.. We installed a banquette in the eating area to make the best use of the small eating area. The backsplash tile was installed vertically to give the illusion of height in keeping with the removal of the soffits and installation of 42” tall wall cabinets.
